Our Professional Division works with a variety of industries and positions ranging from Office Assistants to Maintenance Technicians, and everything in-between. We work with companies who are seeking specific skill-sets, as well as educational backgrounds and certifications. We work with our clients to determine the best option for placement, whether it is a temporary-to-permanent position, short-term contract, or a direct-hire.

Our Diversity Division evaluates the needs of companies looking to diversify their team. We utilize the skills of our recruiters to screen from a larger pool of candidates, finding the most qualified individuals. According to the Harvard Business Review, diverse companies are 45% more likely to grow and 70% likelier to capture a new market all while continuing to drive innovation.

Through our Inclusive Division, we assist individuals with employment barriers. We provide employment opportunities for military veterans, ex-offenders and others facing barriers. We educate our candidates about application etiquette, interviewing, resume building, and much more. In 2015, through this division we have given  65% of our workforce a second chance, while lowering the recidivism and unemployment rate in Michigan.

How We Got Started

The idea for Mixed Staffing came to Sara Sherry-Knoester and her former business partner in 2011. After graduation, the two were job searching and witnessed first-hand the discrimination toward women and minorities. This experience led them to launch Mixed Staffing with the hopes of personalizing the job market and educating employers on the importance of a diverse workforce. Mixed Staffing officially opened on June 1st 2012. In 3 years, from 2012 to 2015, Sara took her company from 1 employee to an ever-growing agency that hired over 240 employees in 2015.
